Some will complain that we’ve gotten thin-skinned and there may be truth in that but every generation produces art that is judged more differently - more harshly - by the next generations. Further, look at how many films we revere today that were flops at the box office. This future generation - us - has decided that there is artistic brilliance there. Blade Runner, Fight Club, The Shawshank Redemption to mention three.
