Excellent summary of the important issues swirling around this labor strike. I’d like to add that the studios have been whining about their lackluster financial condition, due to cord cutters and streaming costs. First, cord cutting has been a growing trend a decade on the making. What did the studios do to address their business problem? The ostrich strategy - heads in the ground. Second, the studios chased the stock analysts who demanded they invest in streaming with no budgetary restraints established. This year, these same stock analysts began demanding actual profits from streaming and the studios responded with, “Are you talkin’ to me?” So the studios seem to be saying, “We F*cked Up. So writers and actors must pay the price for our screw-ups. “
