Why am I writing about My Little Pony? Because I have six granddaughters ranging in age from five to ten years old.

You can say that I have become a “Brony” because of the girls. I’ve watched the show, played with the dolls (please don’t judge), and discussed my preference for Fluttershy over Apple Jack.

Ten years ago, the producers of the My Little Pony TV show started a podcast that was essentially a recap of the TV episodes. It didn’t last long.

Now, Acast and Hasbro, the toy company that owns My Little Pony, have produced and released a new podcast called: My Little Pony: The Podcast.

This new podcast began in late September and just released its fourth episode earlier this week, with four more episodes in the pipeline.

For those who don’t know what My Little Pony is, let me explain. My Little Pony is a toy line and media franchise developed by the Hasbro toy company. The first toys were developed by Bonnie Zacherle, Charles Muenchinger, and Steve D’Aguanno, and were produced in 1981. The ponies feature colorful bodies, manes and a unique symbol on one or both sides of their flanks. Such symbols are referred to in the two most recent incarnations as “cutie marks”.
