Oh no! 1.2 percent of domestic revenue for streaming done in France to support local French creators! What an unexpected thing for the French government to do!

This should be a nothingburger. A cost of doing business in France that almost everyone who does business understands is going to happen. I'm actually shocked that it wasn't already the law there.
