Spotify Announces New League of Legends Esports Podcast “Rift Reaction”
One of the strengths of podcasting is its ability to narrow cast to a specific audience. There are, for example, multiple Games Of Thrones podcasts, even though the HBO series ended over a year ago. Also, a quick trip around any search function in a podcast app will unleash countless shows that focus on video games. World Of Warcraft (WoW) seems to spawn podcasts all the time.
Not to be outdone, Spotify has announced its newest podcast — in partnership with Riot Games, the video game developer behind one of the biggest esport franchises in the world, League of Legends.
Debuting May 20, Rift Reaction is a weekly podcast that will cover trending news in the world of LoL Esports, including all of the big moments from MSI to Worlds and League of Legends All-Stars. Hosted by Travis Gafford and Emily Rand, the new 40-episode series will react to the biggest breaking stories — from rule changes, player movement, execution of tournaments, social issues and more.
In addition, the podcast will offer listeners the chance to join the conversation with interactive polls and a Q&A.
