While I think Owens has a point due to past bad practices, I’m not sure if Schumer’s outburst qualifies. Reading intent from the written word is always an exercise in reading tea lives and about as accurate. My thought is Schumer is making a very specific reference to Justice Alito’s decision where he mentions two sources - a man who believed in rape and another who was indeed a slave owner. Of course, we may never know, which I know upsets people because many tend to hate ambiguity.
